History of Our CompanyAng Inc, formally known as Ang Construction Company, was founded in 1935 by Angelo E. George. Approaching the end of America’s Great Depression, Angelo, “Ang”, borrowed a suit and boarded a train traveling from Columbus, Ohio to Erie, Pennsylvania for the presentation of his bid to build a post office. Angelo was awarded this contract and continued building for the government for several years, constructing government projects in small towns.Early in the 1950’s, Ang Construction Company began contracting with corporations on a build for lease basis. As such, the company designed and constructed multiple commercial/industrial buildings including the Prentice-Hall Distribution Center and Warehouse located in West Nyak, New York. Angelo also constructed the Marysville Women’s Detention Center Hospital and the auditorium for Watterson High School in Columbus. He continued to lead the corporation forward in growth and solidarity until his retirement in 1980. Angelo E. George died in 1989 and left a strong family business and over a million dollar bequest, the largest individual donation ever made, to the Catholic Diocese of Columbus for the benefit of the aged, sick, poor, and hungry. Ang Inc’s centrally located properties combined with premium building materials and conservative, high-quality management has afforded the company the privilege of 70+ years of vitality. Today Ang Inc maintains an inventory of solidly constructed brick, free-standing buildings from 4,000-20,000 square feet in the Columbus, Ohio metropolis and its surrounding suburbs. Ang Inc also holds raw land at various locations throughout Columbus and will build for lease on these sites or conduct a design/build on a client's own site. |
